Study Details

Brief summary:

The goal of this interventional study is to evaluate the feasiblity and effectiveness of a multimodal lifestyle program for individuals living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy or Corticobasal Deneration. The main objectivess of the study are to:

1. Assess the feasibility of the program
2. Assess the effects of the program on emotional wellbeing and quality of life
3. Assess the effects of the program on caregiver burden

Participants will join an 8-week program combining chair yoga, vocal strengthening, and peer support groups, conducted virtually. Participants will complete pre- and post- intervention questionnaires related to emotional wellbeing and quality of life. When applicable, care partners will be asked to complete a caregiver burden questionnaire.

Sex: All

Age: 19+

Healthy Volunteers: Not accepted

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age over 18 years.
  • PSP or CBD diagnosis based on Movement Disorder Society criteria.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Significant cognitive impairment.
  • Inability to fill in electronic questionnaires or understand study instructions.
  • Any contraindication for exercise based on the Physical Activity Readiness for Everyone Questionnaire (PAR-Q+).
